Hi, I’m Jen. I live in Devon with my 7 year old son Braden, or B for short. My main job is being a Teaching Assistant, a job which I have been doing since 2002, with a break in the middle when my son was born. I have worked with children with special needs such as Autism and behavioural issues. I also spent some time working in schools and orphanages out in Tanzania. After my son was born I developed an interest in nutrition which started due to wanting to lose the baby weight. This interest eventually led to me gaining a diploma in Nutrition. I am constantly trying new recipes out on my son, some successful, some not so. I can always rely on B to be at times brutally honest when recipes haven’t quite worked out the way I had hoped. Outside of work I love to hike. Just filling up a backpack and putting on my walking shoes and disappearing off into the countryside for the day is one of my favourite things to do. I suffer from depression and mental health issues and this helps out a lot with that. I am never more at peace than when I am surrounded by nature, not to mention the endorphins released during the walk which naturally help to lift your mood. I hope you enjoy reading my posts.
